  1. Desert Ballooning: One of the most popular types of hot air balloon experiences in Dubai is ballooning over the desert. The Dubai desert offers vast sand dunes and a breathtaking landscape that’s best appreciated from above.

  2. Views: Ballooning over the desert allows you to witness the serene beauty of the sand dunes as the sun rises, casting a warm and golden glow across the landscape. You might even spot some local wildlife like oryx and camels.

  3. Launch Sites: Most hot air balloon rides in Dubai depart from specific launch sites in the desert. Tour operators will provide transportation to these launch sites from convenient locations within the city.

  4. Timing: Hot air balloon rides usually take place early in the morning, just before sunrise. This timing offers cooler temperatures and calm winds, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable flight.

  5. Duration: Balloon rides typically last around 1 to 1.5 hours, providing ample time to take in the views and capture stunning photographs.

  1. The best time to fly balloons is in the cool down air when the winds are light. It is also the most beautiful time of day in the desert.
  2. Dress code :-It is warm in the balloon and the desert so you should dress as if you were going for a walk outside in the city. You should wear trainers or similar, and not high heels. Bring a hat or cap and sunglasses.
  3. Take the camera! There are always amazing photo opportunities.
  4. You’ll fly over the desert for approximately one hour. You should allow up to five hours from start to finish.
  5. Many people who are afraid of heights come on these balloon flights. The feeling of flying in a balloon is very gentle and different from looking off a high bridge or building, or climbing a ladder. You should have no problem, however if you are really concerned please advise your pilot and he will take special care of you.
  6. Age limit:-The minimum age is Six.
  7. Ballooning is a soft ‘adventure’ so it does not require a high level of fitness. You should be able to stand unaided and climb into the basket. If you have a serious medical condition or perhaps have recently had a hip replacement, you should check with your doctor for your own peace of mind.
  8. Is it safe?:-Statistically ballooning is the safest form of flying. Certainly much safer than driving in a motor car! The balloons are inspected and certified in the same way as an airliner and undergo various inspections every four months, every year and every 100 hours. This is required by law.
  9. Who are the pilots?:-All pilots are internationally qualified commercial pilots and amongst the most experienced in the world. All are full time professionals.
  10. Do you have insurance?:-Yes. Public liability is a requirement to qualify for and hold an Air Operators Certificate in the U.A.E.
